Job Description

Cabin Crew (flight attendants, air stewards, stewardesses) are members of a flight crew employed to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers on board an aircraft.

Dalmac is recruiting candidates to work as cabin crew with Ryanair on board Ryanair's Boeing 737 800 next-generation aircrafts!

Who is Ryanair?

Ryanair is Europe's original low fares airline and Europe's largest low fares carrier. In 2008 Ryanair will carry 52m passengers on 653 low fare routes across 26 European countries. Ryanair has 28 European bases. Ryanair operates a fleet of 163 new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The Contract

Job Location

Ryanair has many "bases" throughout Europe. A "base" is the City / Airport where cabin crew live and work and where the airplanes sleep! Ryanair bases are:

Dalmac & Workforce International Contractors are contracted to place staff in all of Ryanair's European bases.

At interview you will be asked for your top 3 base location preferences (where you will live and work!). Ryanair will try to locate you in one of your 3 base preferences however, they can only send you to work in bases where they currently have vacancies so it is important that you are flexible about your base location. Once you are working in any base for at least 3 months, it is possible to apply to Ryanair to relocate you to a different base, Ryanair will endeavour to relocate you if possible

In recognition of the first 6 months of any job being the most difficult, all new staff members are awarded a New Joiners' Allowance of €1,200 (in addition to you salary) payable as follows:

New Joiners' Allowance - €1,200

Month 1 Salary Plus €300  
Month 2 Salary Plus €300  
Month 6 Salary Plus €600 (the party month!)

After 12 Months you will receive an EXTRA /€325.00 annual allowance for uniforms, ID's and Medicals

Promotion Opportunities

Genuine promotional opportunities are available to all WFI cabin crew. The first step is to progress to a permanent employment contract directly with Ryanair (usually after 12months). There are many benefits which come with your promotion including:

Once WFI cabin crew are employed on a Ryanair contract, they can apply for positions such as:

  1. Customer Service Supervisor (CSS) which involves increased responsibility as you manage a team of three other Cabin Crew on each flight. Ryanair Supervisors based in the UK & Ireland earn approximately earn £25,000/€30,000 gross per annum
  2. Training Instructor
  3. Base Supervisors
  4. Office based positions in various Ryanair departments including sales, marketing and personnel.

The Training Course Guarantee

Once you successfully pass your Dalmac training course you are guaranteed employment as cabin crew with our client Ryanair! Your job will start immediately after your training course!

Course Details

Before you can operate as a Crew Member you must complete and pass an intensive training course. Training courses are conducted by Ryanair approved instructors. Courses are full-time, Monday-Friday, for a period of about 5-6 weeks. (Some evening and weekend training may be required)

The Ryanair Boeing 737-800 Cabin Crew Training Course covers all aspects of the job from passenger safety to customer services. With successful completion of this course you will receive your wings and be qualified to work on board Ryanair aircraft.

Training is intensive and requires a considerable amount of study. As part of the assessment process candidates will be required to sit examinations.

Every course group will be sent to Ireland/UK for 2-3 days to complete their practical on board cabin training and fire training modules.

During the training course you will be able to fly to your new base location (where you will be living and working). This is to give you the opportunity to visit your base and meet the Ryanair team and your Base Supervisor.

Course Locations

You can choose to train on any one of our training courses available in cities throughout Europe! Wherever you decide to train will not effect your base allocation so why not try living and studying in a new country!!!

We will provide you with free Ryanair flights to your training course location. If you decide to train in Dublin, we can also help you find accommodation.

When Do You Start Work?

Once you have successfully completed your training course, you will normally be required to begin work immediately! Your first 2 days on board the Ryanair aircrafts are called "supernumeries", where you will be working as an extra on board the aircraft, giving you your first opportunity to put into practice what you have learned on the course! You will begin work immediately afterwards as a fully qualified Cabin Crew member!

Training Course Fees

Acceptance Fee

If you are successful at interview, you will be invited to start on any one of our training courses (available in cities throughout Europe). When you have selected your training course, you must secure your place on the course by paying your “Acceptance Fee” of €299 (this is non-refundable).

Training Course Fee

As with most professions, you need to invest in your education to obtain your qualification. With cabin crew you must also make this investment.

There are differences however:

- You only pay for your training course when you pass the course

- If you fail the course – you do not pay any fees!

- If you leave the course - you do not pay any fees!

- If you pass the course – you are GUARANTEED EMPLOYMENT as cabin crew with our client Ryanair!

DON’T PANIC! If you cannot afford to pay for this course right now, this fee can be deducted monthly over 12 months from your salary (see “Help with Course Fees”)

When you successfully pass the training course, you will need to pay the training fee of 2,055.

The training fee is fully inclusive – there are no hidden extras or “add-on” costs. The training course fee includes:

Help with Course Fees

In partnership with a major Irish Bank, Dalmac is able to offer a loan facility which allows candidates to pay for the course fees by a system of monthly instalments.

Every candidate on the course is entitled to this facility and you can decide if you want to borrow and how much you want to borrow.

Repayments only start once you have started work, and usually not before the second salary payment.

Don’t forget your New Joiners’ Allowance of €1,200 (in addition to your salary) over first 6 months!

REMEMBER: If you fail the course or leave the course you will not have to pay any course fees!

Q: Is it possible to train as cabin crew directly with Ryanair and be employed directly by Ryanair?

A: No, Ryanair contract their staff from companies such as Dalmac / Workforce International Contractors, however if promoted you will be employed directly by Ryanair (usually after 12 months).

Q: I do not have an EU Passport but I do have a working visa, is this valid?

A: No, you must have a valid EU Passport

Q: Dalmac is an Irish company, does that mean that Dalmac only train candidates in Ireland?

A: No, Dalmac provide training courses in cities throughout Europe, check out or website for details on future courses

Q: Who decides which base I get assigned to?

A: Ryanair are responsible for assigning cabin crew to bases, Dalmac will inform Ryanair of your base preference and Ryanair will try to accommodate your preferences however, Ryanair must assign crew to bases where they have vacancies. You must be flexible about your base location.

Q: Who is Workforce International Contractors?

A: Workforce International Contractors are a sister company of Dalmac Aviation & Recruitment, we work together to recruit, train and employ cabin crew for Ryanair. Working together we strive to provide the highest standard of service to you

Q: If I train with Dalmac or if I am employed by Workforce International Contractors does that mean I can only work in selected bases?

A: No, candidates training with Dalmac or candidates employed by Workforce International Contractors can select any Ryanair base as their base preference.

Q: If I want to be based in London Stansted, is it better if I do my training in London?

A: No, your training location will have no impact on your base allocation

Q: After I finish my training course, is it possible to take some time off to visit my family/travel before I begin my new career as cabin crew?

A: No, upon successful completion of the course, candidates must immediately commence employment with Ryanair.

Q: If I fail my last examination and I have completed the 5 weeks of the course, will I still have to pay for my training?

A: No, only candidates who successfully pass their training course will have to pay the training course fee.

Q: Will I have to pay for my medical examination, airport ID or my flight to the training course location?

A: No, Dalmac has NO HIDDEN fees or charges.

Q: Do I receive any salary during the training course?

A: No, you do not earn any salary until you start working

Q: If I take up the loan offer with the bank, will Dalmac be involved?

A: As a Dalmac student you are guaranteed the loan as all students are pre-approved by the bank. However, Dalmac has NO vested interest in your relationship/arrangements with the bank. We will only assist you if require
